Happy New Year!

Posted by Admirals Landing on January 1, 2012 at 1:00am 0 Comments

Dear neighbors,

First, we’d like to offer our wishes for a very happy and prosperous new year and we hope your holiday season was wonderful.

Secondly, we wanted to introduce you to our new neighborhood management company. Your Board of Directors has retained CASI/Associa to manage Admirals Landing. We’ve updated our website with their contact information and other information on the services they provide. We made the decision to switch companies for many reasons, but the primary factor was that CASI brings national expertise and resources that will serve our community better.

We’re often asked, “Why do we even need a management company for our neighborhood?” The real answer is that managing a maturing neighborhood requires more energy, effort and expertise than your all-volunteer Board can provide. CASI also will help us stay abreast of legislative and code changes that affect neighborhoods such as ours. CASI will help us enforce covenants violations, ensure prompt dues collection and help us maintain the records our neighborhood must keep to comply with the law.

One area that we feel will benefit neighbors is an online portal where you can submit architectural review requests for approval. (Keep in mind, approvals from the Architectural Review Committee is required prior to making nearly any type of change or improvement to the exterior of your home and/or landscaping.) This online portal will make it quicker and easier for the Committee to review and respond to your requests.

There are other advantages of making this switch, most of which are behind-the-scenes type improvements that affect how ALHOA manages the business dealings of running the neighborhood.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact ALHOA President Steve Nagy any other Board member (contact information can be found at our website). We consider it a privilege to serve our neighbors and are always interested in hearing new ideas from neighbors who…

Blowin' in the Wind: Gettin' Ready for Old Man Winter

Posted by Admirals Landing on November 7, 2011 at 9:30pm 0 Comments

Trying to make it through fall and get ready for winter

As you begin to think about what you're gonna' do around the 'ol homestead in regards to getting ready for old man winter, here’s a few helpful tips for you and your neighbors.

Front Yard Lamps:  With the recent time change and it staying darker longer anyway, please look at the lighting around the exterior of your home as a measure of improved safety for you and your loved ones. In Admirals Landing at least one dusk-to-dawn yard light is required and all yard lights must be in working order. If yours is not, please replace your bulbs or repair right away. At this writing, there are more than 10% of the homes in Admirals Landing that do not have working yard lamps.

Trash & Leaves: A fair amount of wind blows through our neighborhood so please regularly rake your leaves and pick up anything that is within eyesight of your home. Be neighborly and don’t place the burden of your cleanup on your neighbors – next door or down the street!

Curbs & Street Drains: Please keep these clean and clear of debris. Don't wait for the City of Lawrence to sweep the streets as this normally only happens 2-3 times a calendar year.

Fences and Lot Line Maintenance: Whether you have a fence or open lot line that abuts your neighbor’s yard, it is your responsibility to maintain the appearance of both sides of your fencing and yard line. Keep weeds from creeping into your neighbors’ side, and keep trash and leaves from landing in their yards.

About Us

Admirals Landing is a beautifully appointed, mature neighborhood of 133 single-family homes situated at the northeast corner of Marion County near Geist Reservoir.

Located in Lawrence Township, in the City of Lawrence, we're often referred to as being in Indianapolis.

Admirals Landing homeowners enjoy their own private neighborhood swimming pools and tennis courts.

Nearby, there are churches, schools, restaurants, grocery stores, taverns, salons, boutiques, fitness centers, pharmacies, dry cleaners, a US Post Office, a marina and much more---all just minutes away!

Neighborhood Rules

This web-based community network serves as a resource for you to get and share neighborhood info, news and events, access needed documents & forms, and speak out about what's on your mind. So that everyone can participate, here's a few “neighborhood rules”:

1. When uploading your profile photo, we want to see you or how you (want to) see yourself. Don’t use stuff we may be asked to remove (logos, commercial or copyrighted images, photos or other stuff like this).

2. When possible, keep all posts and comments civil and polite. It's okay to feel strongly about a subject, but please refrain from personal attacks toward neighbors, other residents, vendors, contractors and/or their employees. If you believe or feel your ALHOA Board, Committees, or Property Management is not performing to your expectations or you simply disagree with what's happening, 'shout it out' here.

3. Never post inappropriate comments, materials or web links. If you’re unsure of what is appropriate, you probably shouldn't be here.

4. Events, meetings, etc., should be posted in the Calendar & Events section.

5. Post your own stuff as you please but please do not post commercial videos, demo reels, music or any outside corporate website promotions without prior authorization. They may be copyrighted or require permission or attribution.

6. This is a public website and a semi-moderated community. Any member can be removed for any reason including inappropriate behavior.

We reserve the right to make any changes, delete any content, and remove any members or groups.

This neighborhood based community network gets better when you participate. Post your thoughts, blog at will, ask questions, give neighbors a 'shout out', and provide your input on how to make it better!
